Shock Waves 2012: A unique Film Festival in Capital


2nd International Film Festival on Disaster Risk Reduction

Global Forum for Disaster Reduction (GFDR) cordially invites you to Shock Waves 2012 (Second International Film Festival on Disaster Risk Reduction) on 3-4 Aug, 2012 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. This event is organized in collaboration with Japan Foundation. The Festival timings are 10 AM to 6 PM both days. Inaugural Function is at 10 AM on 3rd Aug and Valedictory Function will be at 4 PM on 4th Aug, 2012.
The Film Festival will screen films received from different parts of the world on following categories:

 (a)               Learnings from Japan
(b)               Living with Disasters
(c)                Beyond Disasters (Sustainable Development)
(d)               Indigenous Knowledge and Practices
(e)                Protecting our Earth (CCA and Environment issues)
(f)                 Culture of Disaster Preparedness (School and Community Focus)
 We are pleased to invite you to this prestigious event of great public importance. We request you to be a part of this event. Please feel free to ask for any further information or details pertaining to the event.  High level dignitaries and disaster management professionals, policy makers, film experts and students are expected to be present on the occasion.
