'Eight' is an International Short Films Festival being held in New Delhi in the third weekend of September 2010. It is part of the "Stand Up & Make a Noise" Campaign of Filmbooth.
Filmbooth is a movie forum working with an idea to promote the new age filmmakers.
The theme of this festival is the 8 Millenium Development Goals (MDG's) of United Nations.
Format of the Short Films are Fiction, animation, live footage, imagery, narrative, or any radical style. Duration of the Film is maximum 20 minutes.
Although the deadline for sublission has passed (31st Aug. 2010), but the interesting part is that there has been no entry fee and submissions were opened online through youtube. Shortlisted films will be screened at the Festival in New Delhi alongside those made by the likes of Mira Nair, Gus Van Sant, Gael Garcia Bernal, Wim Wenders and others. Jury Panel comprises of Mike Pandey, Bhawana Somaya, Namrata Joshi, Vagish Jha and others. Noted Actor Rahul Bose will be at the festival to talk to the young filmmakers and student on Short Films.
Moreover, as is Filmbooth's raison d'être, there will be a something for all its precious short film makers, friends, followers and other film enthusiasts as well.
